Weekly Update - February 23, 2026

This week marks the debut of Confidential Mode, powered by NEAR AI Cloud's Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) infrastructure. Alongside this major privacy feature, we completed a comprehensive model cascade review that identified and resolved pipeline issues, upgraded evaluation fallbacks, and shipped numerous infrastructure stability fixes.

Founding Partner Program Development

This week's NEARCON debut showcases our commitment to enterprise-grade privacy. Confidential Mode addresses a key concern from regulated industry partners: cryptographic verification that assessment conversations cannot be accessed during processing. The integration has been opensourced for transparency.

Technical Improvements

NEAR AI Cloud TEE Integration (v6.0.0)

Launched Confidential Mode with dual cascade architecture. When enabled, assessments route through NEAR AI's private cloud infrastructure using TEE-protected inference. The integration includes resilient fallback mechanisms with automatic cascade switching, enhanced logging, and frontend timeout optimization for the additional latency inherent in secure processing.

Model Cascade Review and Pipeline Fixes

Completed comprehensive model cascade review identifying and resolving assessment pipeline issues across three groups:

  • Group A: Four no-decision pipeline fixes addressing edge cases where assessments could stall
  • Group B: Assessment pipeline alignment and prompt improvements for consistency and token-efficiency
  • Group C: Cascade upgrades with Sonnet 4.6 and GPT-5.2 for improved evaluation quality

Upgraded model cascade to include Anthropic's new Sonnet 4.6, and GLM-5 (GLM-latest) for Confidential Mode.

Scoring Engine Growth Areas

Implemented evidence density defaults, catch_bonus telemetry with flag tracking, and false alarm tracking. These improvements enable more granular growth area identification and personalized development recommendations.

Infrastructure Stability

Resolved multiple production stability issues:

  • Pinned grpcio versions to resolve runtime failures
  • Fixed session reset and token generation issues
  • Resolved models namespace collision in backend services
  • Fixed lazy async MongoDB collection access in services
  • Converted relative imports to absolute in admin.py for cleaner module resolution

Multi-Whitepaper Architecture

Refactored the whitepaper system to support multiple documents. Added the new Privacy & Security whitepaper (placeholder, debuts tomorrow) alongside existing materials, with improved navigation and document discovery.

Platform Stability

Platform maintained 100% uptime with no incidents. All systems operating normally: standard and confidential assessment modes, results generation, cohort management, email notifications, and analytics processing. TEE integration thoroughly tested before NEARCON launch.

The Week in Numbers

  • 5 blog posts published (1 video + 4 articles including 2 industry guides)
  • v6.0.0 released with Confidential Mode (TEE integration)
  • Model cascade review: 3 groups of fixes, 4+ pipeline issues resolved
  • Evaluation cascades upgraded to Sonnet 4.6 and GPT-5.2
  • Growth area tracking infrastructure deployed
  • 5+ infrastructure stability fixes merged
  • 50+ commits merged across main and feature branches
  • 100% uptime, zero incidents

Why This Week Matters

Confidential Mode represents a fundamental advance in assessment privacy. For Founding Partners in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, legal, and government, the ability to verify that assessment conversations are hardware-protected addresses procurement concerns that software-only privacy policies cannot. Combined with the evaluation cascade upgrades and growth area tracking, this week positions PAICE as the most privacy-respecting and technically sophisticated AI collaboration assessment available.

Thank You

To everyone exploring PAICE and providing feedback: your input shapes our development priorities. Special thanks to the NEAR AI Innovation Sandbox team for their wealth of resources on TEE integration, and to the NEARCON organizers for including PAICE in the Innovation Sandbox.
