Weekly Update - June 8, 2026
Papers library ships, dimensions complete, and PAICE enters a regulatory consultation

This was a publishing week. Three new papers launched under a dedicated /papers section — the intellectual infrastructure that until now lived as PDFs scattered across download links became a navigable, citable library. The Performance Dimension post completed the five-part dimensions series that's been running since April. And PAICE.work PBC submitted formal comments on the EU's draft Article 50 transparency guidelines, the first time this project has engaged directly with a regulatory consultation. Behind the scenes, agent metadata was canonicalized and hardened, and the production database completed its post-migration rename.
Content Published Last Week
Monday (June 1): "Weekly Update - June 1, 2026"
Tuesday (June 2): "Two Papers, One Argument" Announcement of two new papers addressing the same gap from different directions: measuring what People+AI collaboration actually produces at the organization and governance level. The Aggregated Intelligence brief and One Number You Can Defend whitepaper are both now published.
Wednesday (June 3): "Transparency Tells You It's AI. It Can't Tell You How to Trust It." Commentary on the EU's draft Article 50 transparency guidelines, filed during the stakeholder consultation window. The gap the submission kept circling: a label can compel disclosure that something is AI, but it cannot make that disclosure reach an agent, survive time, or produce judgment in the person who receives it.
Thursday (June 4): "The Performance Dimension" The fifth and final installment in the PAICE dimensions deep-dive series. Performance carries 10% of your PAICE score — the lowest weight — because communication clarity is a threshold skill, not an infinite-return skill. The fluency trap: articulate professionals who write polished three-paragraph prompts that produce generic responses, while four specific lines produce usable output on the first pass.
Friday (June 5): Video - "The Posture Gap" 5:31 video. Three teams present solid reports to the board. One question — "are we ready?" — ends the meeting in silence. The posture gap is the distance between "we're doing a lot" and "we can tell you exactly where we stand."
Papers Library Launch
The /papers section is now live at paice.work/papers. Three new papers shipped alongside the architectural work to make them browsable:
- The Cost of Invisible AI Risk — A board-level business case for measuring AI-collaboration reliability. The exposure that doesn't appear on any dashboard until it becomes an incident.
- The People-Vector Evidence Layer — Maps PAICE behavioral assessment to NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and the EU AI Act. The governance integration guide for compliance teams evaluating where behavioral evidence fits.
- Governance Without Surveillance — Why privacy by architecture is what makes behavioral AI measurement adoptable. Addresses the objection that stops deployment before it starts.
The existing papers (Making AI Collaboration Measurable, Closing the Collaboration Gap, Verifiable Human-AI Collaboration) were migrated into the same system. URLs canonicalized from /whitepapers to /papers with redirects in place. Each paper now has a slug-based detail page and an in-browser reader — no more PDF-only access.
This matters for the same reason the blog matters: the intellectual case for behavioral measurement needs to be findable, linkable, and readable without friction. PDFs behind download buttons are none of those things. Each of these papers will be highlighed with its own blog post this week.
Technical Improvements
Agent Metadata Canonicalization
Public agent metadata was canonicalized around /llms.txt as the single source of truth. The legacy /llm.txt path now serves as a generated alias with no independent claims about scoring, models, or content. agents.json scoring tiers were aligned with the app's actual tier boundaries (Constrained 0–299, Informed 300–499, Proficient 500–699, Advanced 700–899, Exceptional 900–1000). A new verification script (verify-agent-metadata.mjs) detects stale metadata, duplicate robots user agents, tier drift, and blocked advertised resources before they reach production.
Database Optimizations
The production database completed its post-migration cleanup, with guardrails and a CI workflow that allowlists the transition ticket.
Endpoint Production Gating
API routes are no longer registered in production at all — not just guarded at the handler level. Combined with last week's FastAPI docs gating, the production API surface now exposes exactly what it should and nothing more.
Security Observability Updates
Agentic browser detection telemetry was normalized into security_events with typed event shapes. Security dashboard metrics were updated to count both current and transition event formats. Honeypot and agentic browser documentation was reconciled with active event names and IP/header storage behavior.
Documentation Cleanup
We have further refined and updated internal project documentation to make it easier for the team (humans + agents) to understand what is current, what is planned, and why it matters. This last piece is what makes real problem-solving possible.
Platform Stability
All three environments (production, staging, pilot) operating normally. Zero unplanned incidents. Automated daily health checks and weekly backup restoration drills continue running without issue.
The Week in Numbers

- 3 new papers published under
/papers(business case + privacy architecture + governance mapping) - 18 commits to main
- PAICE dimensions series completed (all five published: Performance, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration, Evolution)
- Papers section launched with slug-based routing, in-browser reader, and whitepaper→papers URL migration
- Agent metadata canonicalized with automated verification tooling
- Production database rename completed (post-migration cleanup)
- EU Article 50 transparency consultation submitted
- Content unit system (Phase 7) shipped for distribution scaling
- 0 unplanned incidents
Why This Week Matters
The dimensions series is complete. That's worth naming because it's a milestone for the product's explanatory infrastructure. Five posts, one per dimension, each explaining what PAICE measures and why the weight is what it is. Performance at 10%, Evolution at 15%, Collaboration at 20%, Integrity at 25%, Accountability at 30%. Anyone evaluating PAICE — whether they're a compliance officer deciding if it fits their governance framework or a professional wondering why their Accountability score is lower than they expected — now has a complete reference set. The content does the selling that sales calls shouldn't have to do.
The papers library solves a distribution problem that's been accumulating. The intellectual case for behavioral AI measurement is strong — six papers now, each addressing a different audience and objection. But papers behind PDF download buttons don't get cited, don't get linked, and don't get found by the agents that increasingly surface research for enterprise buyers. Making them browsable, linkable, and readable in-browser is the kind of infrastructure work that compounds: every future paper benefits from it, and every existing paper becomes more discoverable.
The EU Article 50 submission is the first time PAICE has engaged directly with a regulatory process (though we've already claimed a second as well, more to come later on that). The argument is consistent with everything else we publish: transparency labels are necessary but structurally insufficient. Knowing something is AI-generated doesn't help you evaluate whether it's reliable. That evaluation requires behavioral measurement — which is what PAICE provides. Filing that argument during a stakeholder consultation puts it on record in the right venue at the right time.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who followed the dimensions series through all five installments. The question we hear most often — "why is Accountability weighted so much higher than Performance?" — now has a thorough, public, linkable answer. That's the kind of transparency that builds the trust we're asking organizations to invest in.
To the governance and compliance professionals reading: three new papers are waiting for you at paice.work/papers. The People-Vector Evidence Layer maps PAICE directly to NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and the EU AI Act. If you've been looking for where behavioral assessment fits in your framework? That's the paper.
